Jenna Bush Hager and the former first family – sister Barbara Pierce Bush, mother Laura Bush and father and former President George W. Bush – recently spent time together for the first time in "a decade."
On Sunday, Hager shared photos on Instagram of the family dinner they had in celebration of the matriarch's 77th birthday.
"We went to dinner just the four of us, and what we realized is: I don't think we've been just the four of us in ... let's say, a decade," Hager told co-host Hoda Kotb on Monday's episode of "Today With Hoda & Jenna." The family's been busy, she said, with Hager, 41, being a mom to three children and twin sister Barbara having a 2-year-old daughter with husband Craig Coyne, whom she married in 2018.
"There was something about it that was really special, to be just the four of us," she added. "No distractions – we had the best time. And then we went and all got in bed. My dad was watching some sort of football game, and my mom opened her presents. And then we went to bed at 8:45."
"Happiest birthday to our darling mama!" Hager captioned her Sunday post, which featured the family of four sitting together at a restaurant table. She added that she was "so happy to get to spend the night with you just the four of us!"

The family time took place as Hager and her sister were touring Texas for their latest children's book, "Love Comes First."
The former first lady was surprised with a birthday cake and a crowd singing "Happy Birthday" to her during her daughters' tour stop at the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas. In her own Instagram post on Sunday, Laura Bush wrote, "My birthday was made all the more special by a visit from our girls!"
