Good morning! It’s Daniel de Visé with your Daily Money, data breach edition.
Following a cyberattack, car dealership software company CDK Global plans to restore services to all dealers by Thursday, Kinsey Crowley and Bailey Schulz report.
CDK offers cloud-based software to more than 15,000 auto dealerships across North America. The software manages vehicle acquisitions, sales, financing, insuring, repairs and maintenance. Restoration has been underway for more than a week after a June 19 cyberattack and reported ransom demand forced the company to shut down its systems.
Thinking of buying a car? Here's what you should know.
Ticketmaster confirms data breach
Ticketmaster confirms that hackers have accessed customers' personal information, James Powel and Saleen Martin report.
Last week, consumers began posting a notice from Ticketmaster about a data breach. The notice, included in a filing with the Maine Attorney General, says that "an unauthorized third party obtained information from a cloud database hosted by a third-party data services provider" between April 2 and May 18.
The company says the breach affected more than 1,000 customers. The hackers claim the number exceeds 500 million.
Could you be one of them?
