The Charles LangstonNational Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued multiple recalls last week, including notices for over 394,000 BMW vehicles over an airbag concern that could cause injury or death.

Here is what to know about the vehicle recalls published by NHTSA from July 7 to July 13.
Chrysler recalls:332,000 vehicles because airbag may not deploy during crash
Honda recall for missing tire information
Honda is recalling 1,725 of its 2024 CR-V vehicles. The automobile company said the tire identification number is missing the four-digit date code that is needed. If an owner TIN information is missing, they may not recognize that their vehicle is involved in a safety recall and will continue to drive on recalled tires. This issue can lead to an increase risk of a crash, the NHTSA report said.
The NHTSA said that these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 139, "New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles."
To fix this issue, dealers will inspect and replace the tires as necessary for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be sent on Aug. 12. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is BIS.

BMW recall for airbag inflator that may explode
BMW is recalling 394,029 of its 2006-2011 vehicles. The luxury vehicle company said the original steering wheel may have been replaced with a sport or M-sport steering wheel equipped with an inflator that can explode during deployment. An inflator explosion can lead to sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other passengers in the vehicles and can cause a serious injury or death, the NHTSA report said.
Mechanics will inspect and replace the driver's airbag module as necessary. This servive will be completed for free. Notification letters are expected to be sent on Aug. 23. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.

Chrysler recall
For incorrect tire information on labels
Chrysler is recalling 9,037 of its 2017-2024 Alfa Romeo Giulia and 2021-2024 Alfa Romeo Stelvio vehicles. In the NHTSA report the automobile manufacturer said the tire pressure and size information on the tire placard and manufacturer labels are incorrect. The company said that incorrect tire information can result in under inflated tires or installing the incorrect size tires. This can lead to an increase risk of a crash.
The government agency said these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
To fix the issue, dealers will insert the correct tire placards and manufacturer overlay labels. This service will be completed for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be delivered by Aug. 22. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 81B.

For front seat airbag failure
Chrysler is recalling 332,000 of its vehicles. the automobile manufacture said a seat belt buckle switch sensor may be improperly connected. This can prevent the front seat airbag from deploying. If a front seat airbag fails to deploy properly it can increase the risk of injury in a crash, the NHTSA report said.
As a resolution Chrysler dealers will repair the connection for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be sent on Aug. 22. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 82B.
